A special invitation to celebrate and embrace change. Please don’t miss the final two Mondays at the Gallery Café.

Monday, November 8, 2010 – featuring Trena Machado & Ken Saffran
Monday, December 6, 2010 – featuring Clare Ramsaran & Lenore Weiss

The Gallery Café Reading Series will end its six year run with the December 6th reading. I know many of you have requested a feature and had been promised a slot in 2011. I’m sorry that won’t happen.

It’s been an honor to host this series. Now, I want to focus on several writing projects of my own. The owner of the café, who has been gracious to us, doesn’t wish to continue the series at this time. Please join me in thanking Tony and his staff at the Gallery Café. Also, a very special and personal thank you to Robin Demers, the founder and curator of this series.

As has been my practice, the mailing list for the Gallery Café won’t be traded or shared.

So, let’s celebrate and revel. Bring your new poems in November & December. Folks, it’s persimmon & pomegranate season. If that’s not enough to make us joyful, contemplate Winter Solstice. With gratitude, I look forward to thanking you in person.

A Brief History of The Gallery Cafe Reading Series

Begun 6 or 7 years ago by host and curator Robin Demers, the series was named “All Poets Welcome Reading Series.” Robin returned to the University of San Francisco to obtain an MFA and asked Kit Kennedy to “take over the series.” At some point, the regulars were calling the series “The Gallery.” I changed its name. The series carries on Robin’s spirit – we’re welcoming. The Gallery Café Reading Series now meets every 1st Monday of the month.
